SINAI

OUR GENERATION & the ISRAELITES AT MT. SINAI

There is a similarity and bond between our generation of people and those Israelites of the Exodus who stood at the base of Mt. Sinai and heard the message of God delivered to the masses.

The Hebrew Bible (Torah, Old Testament) was written with the understanding that the future generations of people could identify with the messages and lessons being taught at the time of the Exodus as they were meant for all of us and for all time. Some messages were addressed for the generations shortly following the Exodus, some were addressing future problems that would take us into the present time, and the message proving God through the creation story was presented esoterically as the details were above the heads of the generations that followed.

The Bible was able to be understood better by the generations that was closest to the Exodus period when we learn that in Genesis 2 that the river that watered the Garden of Eden divided into four rivers and each went to a different land. We know today that 3 of those lands, Havilah, Cush, and Ashur were not yet places on the map.

The message that addressed future problems was presented in King David purchasing the Temple Mount. This is included in the Bible because God foresaw the time would come when in spite of the fact that He assigned the land of Israel to the Hebrew (Jewish) people, there would be a challenge to Jewish ownership rights by the nations of the world. So although King David conquered all of Jerusalem and he now controlled the land promised the Israelites by God, David still formally purchased the Temple Mount which even then became recognized as sovereign ownership of the land.

So then what makes our generation so special that it is as we too were standing at Sinai and receiving revelations from God?

Today we have broken all the esoteric impediments of proving God did in fact create the heavens and the earth. Our present day generation is the first, the very first, to fully understand the Biblical story of creation and have full knowledge of how the world was created and we know the Bible is correct because each and very verse of the creation story is now supported by the teachings of modern science.

Those details and more are provided in the book “WHY HUMAN BEINGS DO NOT NEED BLIND FAITH TO BELIEVE IN CREATIONISM” and it addresses the issues of the dinosaurs to the fact the 6 days of cosmic time is the equivalent of the billions of years of Earth-time as measured by the same clock. (see website www.landpublishing.com)

Those Bible findings can be challenged only if a person can answer this question:

How could it have been humanly possible for Moses, 3500 years ago, to have

known of every basic detail of the creation story, and in their exact

chronological order, when modern science is only now within the last 75 years

figuring it out?

Please tell your friends and family about it.

 BIBLE CHALLENGES
PEOPLE AVOID FACING-until now

To appreciate the Bible we must first fully understand it,
as even the smallest academic challenges needs to be resolved. Some miscellaneous items are enclosed for
your consideration:

---------------------------------------------------------------

the rain
issue

In Genesis 2:5, one of the facts God is telling us about
is that there had never been any rain throughout the beginning period of time.
The Bible is perfect and that was an accurate statement which is 100% correct.
Science, on the other hand says, “What’s wrong with you people? There was rain,
there had to be rain or nothing could have grown and survive.” Science is also
100% correct.

Now the question becomes, how could both opposite
versions of the rain issue be correct?

 --------------------------------------------

President Obama & the Garden of Eden
Lesson issue

Leaders, just like ordinary people, err and when there
are consequences they turn to God and attempt to explain their predicament,
express their sorrow, and seek redemption.

Adam in the Garden of Eden had his moment and attempted
to explain his failure as did great leaders like King Saul and King David in
their time. Adam was not forgiven, King Saul was not forgiven, but King David
was forgiven.

What was the lesson taught in the Eden story that
explains why King David was forgiven and the others were not?

What if Barak Obama, president of the United States, was
to seek redemption and explain his predicament as per the previous explanations
to Americans for his unfilled promises, would his contrition meet the standards
taught at Eden or would he be denied?

Age
of the Earth Question: a Problem for Politicians

Another ‘what if’
is the media reporting men like Senator Marco Rubio (Republican-Florida) and Governor
Chris Christie (Republican-New Jersey) are fearful of addressing the question
posed to them about the age of the Earth because it seems they are fearful
of antagonizing voters who might hold different opinions.

Our book does not discuss any of those politicians but we
have proved the Bible is in sync with the teachings of modern science, 6 days
of cosmic time is the equivalent of billions of years of Earth-time and the age
of the Earth and time of the different events of creation are detailed.

 ----------------------------------------

Why Are Muslims Battling To Destroy Israel?

One chapter of the book addresses that issue. It is puzzling
because the Koran, the Bible of the Muslims, says the Children of Israel are to
have control of the ‘Promised Land’ and the Koran goes further to say the Jews
are to live there in peace!

----------------------------------------------

The book ‘WHY
HUMAN BEINGS DO NOT NEED BLIND FAITH TO BELIEVE IN CREATIONISM’ addresses all
the questions posed here and of course much more (see website www.landpublishing.com).

THE BIBLE QUESTIONS YOU MUST DARE TO THINK ABOUT

The book “WHY HUMAN BEINGS DO NOT NEED BLIND FAITH TO
BELIEVE IN CREATIONISM” (see website www.landpublishing.com)
provides the literal proof that each and every verse of the Biblical story of
creation is in sync with the teachings of modern science.

THE QUESTION that we
must address is how could it have been humanly possible for Moses 3500 years
ago to have known of every basic detail of the creation story, and in their
exact chronological order, when modern science has only been able to start
figuring it out within the last 75 years? Would he not have had to be told?

 ------------------------------------------------------------

Some of the miscellaneous issues the book addresses in its many
chapters:

Most
Bibles translate the 6th Commandment in Exodus 20 as ‘thou shall not
kill. The original Hebrew scrolls of Moses is properly translated as ‘thou
shalt not murder.’

Murder, by
old and modern definition, is the illegal taking of life. Killing, on the other
hand, may be legal (and even morally justified) in situations as self-defense, etc.

As the New
Testament was originally written in Koine Greek (ancient Greek language) from a
book called the Septuagint the word ‘kill’ was chosen in the translation of the
6th Commandment as there was no Koine Greek word to distinguish between
killing and murder.

THE QUESTION then is there a present day attempt to
explore the meaning of the words used by the Israelites in the period of the
Exodus and get to the original understanding of the Bible?

If you do not believe so then why did the Thomas Nelson
publishers of the NKJV (New King James Version of the Bible) change its
translation of Exodus 20:13 “You shall not kill” to “You shall not murder”?

-------------------------------------

People
scoff at the Bible because it says the world was created in 6 twenty four hour
days and modern science says the Earth was created in 4.5 billion years.

THE QUESTION then is, have you given it some thought and
feel that yes, there is conflict between Bible and science?

If so then why do the leading physicists of the world
agree with the findings of Albert Einstein’s theory of relativity in which he
proved that gravity and motion affect the intervals of time and space. It is already known that 6 days of cosmic
time, due to differences of gravity pull throughout the universe, is the
equivalent of 4.5 billions of years as measured by the same clock on Earth.

----------------------------------------------------

If you
agree with and cherish the artistic design of the Ten Commandments incased in
two round-topped stones as an inspiring religious symbol then answer the
following questions:

THE QUESTION is why did English artists in the 11th
century introduce that design which was tombstones to show ‘the laws of the
Jews were dead’? Considering that the Bible describes the tablets of the
commandments as rectangular, should the present used art design be thrown out
and redone?

----------------------------

If you believe dinosaurs were not mentioned in the Bible
under any name, then answer the following question:

THE QUESTION is who were the creatures mentioned in
Genesis 1:21 that we know now that birds were evolved from their winged
species?

--------------------------------------------

If you believe that the Bible was written only for the
Israelites of the Exodus period and does not apply to people today who need not
understand it, then please address this question:

The stones were designed to represent tombstones and send the message that the laws of the Jews were dead.

That art form was the original creation of British artists in the 11th century. Then in the 13th century when Jews throughout Europe were ordered by the pope at Rome to wear insignia on their clothing to indicate they were Jews that could now be attacked and harassed by the populace of the different countries, in England, King Henry III had the Jews wear an 'identifying badge' in the shape of those two hinged tombstones as that art form was known to the British for what it was intended to represent.

By the 15th century, the history of the purpose of that art form was forgotten and it became accepted as religious art by both Jews and Christians.

Details of that history are presented in chapter 11 of the book 'WHY HUMAN BEINGS DO NOT NEED BLIND FAITH TO BELIEVE IN CREATIONISM'.Professor Sol Huriashhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04622556096036354048noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-102608691852224801.post-57666209993380375322011-04-28T11:34:00.005-04:002011-04-28T16:43:44.690-04:00ADAM & EVE DRESSED IN A FIG LEAFWhat has been believed to be going from literally naked to clothes of a fig leaf meant that the colloquial and Biblical metaphors of the Torah (Bible) were never really fully applied.

The Sages explained that 6000 years ago (the time the Bible tells us Adam and Eve came onto the world stage) people did not walk around naked. Naked in the Genesis story referred to being devoid of the necessary character and mindset to obey God.

Adam was not the first man ever created (people from the cave man to Homo sapiens [our species] had been developing since the dinosaurs had become extinct) but he was the first man to know God.

No man ever made clothing of leaves which would have dried up in one day and fallen apart even when fresh. We know now that 'clothes of leaves' was an ancient Hebrew colloquial expression for 'offering a poor excuse.' The poor excuse offered by Adam and Eve in their penitence was the blaming of others and not accepting full responsibility for their actions. This is fully explained in the book "WHY HUMAN BEINGS DO NOT NEED BLIND FAITH TO BELIEVE IN CREATIONISM."

Adam and Eve both used the same excuse and therefore the word for 'leaf' in the original scrolls of Moses was in the singular.

Yet today Bible translations for both Christian and Jewish books use the word 'leaves' in the plural.

WHY?

There has to be a logical explanation and the same ones we received from learned Biblical scholars was that the placement of the vowels under the Hebrew letters of the word for leaf and other grammatical considerations required the Hebrew word 'leaf' to be translated and understood to be in the plural.

But there is one problem with that rationale and that is the Hebrew grammatical system and placement of vowels to determine the pronunciation of the words were not developed and made part of the Hebrew grammar until more than 1000 years after Moses and the Israelites of the period of the Exodus. Moses never heard of Hebrew vowels as we see them in modern Hebrew reprinting of the Bible so that when he recorded the word 'leaf' in the singular, he meant one single poor excuse that both Adam and Eve used to explain why they ate of the forbidden fruit.Professor Sol Huriashhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04622556096036354048noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-102608691852224801.post-40420581550116557582010-05-31T11:59:00.005-04:002011-01-07T20:23:31.997-05:006 days vs 4.5 billion years of creationThe biggest stumbling block for proving sync between science and the biblical story of creation is the question of the time it took for the creation process. The Bible says six days and science says four and a half billion years. As people became more educated the six day claim made the Bible appear a work of fiction and belief in that six day number became limited to those with blind faith

Between the years 1950 and 1955 scientists developed the big bang theory which stated that the universe began with an explosion of a dense amount of matter and that our universe is still continuing to expand as a result of that explosion. Most scientists calculate that it took place 13.73 billion years ago.

Our knowledge and understanding of that history begins in the early part of the 20th century when Albert Einstein proved that light rays from distant stars were deflected by the gravity of the Sun. His theory, called 'the theory of general relativity' proved that gravity and motion can affect the intervals of time and space. Einstein proved that gravity makes time run more slowly in places where the forces of gravity are different as there are changes in the flow of time. We also know now, and for the first time although it is mind boggling, that the entity called 'time' has not been around forever and that it was created along with the rest of the universe in the big bang theory.

Because changes in gravity and velocity affect the rate at which our time flows, measurement of time is not the same in all places, i.e. on Earth and on the Moon, or in other planets using the same clock. It is therefore amazing for us, in this period of existence, to finally learn that six 24 hour days in outer space (solar time) would be the equivalent of approximately 13.73 billion years as measured in Earth-time with the same clock, as one minute of cosmic time is the equivalent of a million million minutes of the same clock on Earth.

Our galaxy the Milky Way, had a star develop which we call the Sun, 4.5 billion years ago and our planet, Earth, developed with other planets of our galaxy around that time

And so science, which was once the old adversary of the Bible, now is the proof that the Bible is correct in stating that the world was formed in 6 days as measured by cosmic time which is the equivalent of the billions of years we measure in Earth-time.

This resolving of the time issues is the ultimate proof that the Bible and science are in sync and this means that only a Supreme Power could have given the Bible to Moses.

No one could question if there is a God!Professor Sol Huriashhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04622556096036354048noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-102608691852224801.post-37265207894170016022008-06-15T13:56:00.001-04:002008-06-15T13:59:21.134-04:00LAND PURCHASES BY ABRAHAM, JACOB, KING DAVIDLAND PURCHASES MADE BY ABRAHAM, JACOB, and KING DAVID

The Bible highlights the three purchases of land made in Israel that were made by Abraham, Jacob, and King David.

It was foreseen that the time would come when there would be a challenge to Jewish ownership rights in Israel by the nations of the world. Therefore even though God promised Abraham the land would belong to the Jews, a point was made to show the world there were actual purchases of those sections that would later be contentious.

1- Abraham paid for the land in Hebron that would be a burial place for Sarah and himself. Abraham used what was then considered international currency (type of money acceptable anywhere) to symbolically establish a new sovereignty and reality for the status of the land.

2- Jacob paid for land in Shechem to build an altar to God. He used what was then considered international currency making it a sovereign acquisition thus symbolically also establishing a new sovereignty and reality for that parcel of land.

3- King David’s purchase of the Temple Mount in Jerusalem was also done in a manner that made it considered a sovereign ownership of the land.

Today many people who do not believe in the Bible say there is no proof that God even exists and created the world.

Well, the proof is here today in our book ‘WHY HUMAN BEINGS DO NOT NEED BLIND FAITH TO BELIEVE IN CREATIONISM.’ The sync with the story of creation and science is that proof and we hope that you readers of these blogs would not only want to purchase that book but make it a point to tell your family and friends about it and they should pass the message on in a similar manner.Professor Sol Huriashhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04622556096036354048noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-102608691852224801.post-42601911539372293942008-06-08T16:41:00.002-04:002008-06-08T16:47:38.007-04:00Bible Does NOT Say Man is Made From DustBlog 9

Bible Does NOT Say Man Is Literally Created From the Dust of the Ground

To many people a misunderstanding of the Bible leads them to believe man was created from dust (Genesis 2:7), the name of the first man was Adam, and Eve was created from a rib of Adam. The metaphors of the parable of the Garden of Eden story need to be clarified.

Let us return to Genesis 1:27 and there the Bible tells us “And God created man in His image, in the image of God He created him, male and female He created them.”

Our book “Why Human Beings Do Not Need Blind Faith to Believe in Creationism” explains that man (homo sapiens) was created by God approximately 200,000 years ago.

The Hebrew word for ‘created’ is transliterated as BOR-AH and Genesis 1:27 tells us that the entity called ‘man’ is an original creation by God for the first (and only ) time and the term ‘in His image’ means ‘in the mold God prepared for man’ and not as God looks because we have no clue as to what the appearance of God is like. Let us emphasize that Genesis 1:27 also clearly states that women were created also at that time. We all learned in school that man started out as a cave man that existed as a gatherer and slowly evolved (within its own species). Man is now evolved enough, as determined by God, to be able to recognize Him and pray directly to Him and all this took place 5768 years ago (as per the present calendar year of 2008) and that evolved or developed man is now having his psyche story of progress reviewed in the parable of the Garden of Eden story.

We call the living man in the story Adam and his wife Eve and as the stars of the show they stand in and represent the mankind that evolved up to that period. God wants to explain to the Israelites through the story of the Garden of Eden starring Adam and Eve what man does wrong and what is the right road to travel to find spirituality to God.

Thus in Genesis 2:7 when we read “and the Lord formed man of dust and from the earth; and He blew into his nostrils the soul of life; and man became a living thing” a detailed explanation is required because ‘living thing’ here is reference to spirituality.

The key word for the understanding of Genesis 2:7 is the word ‘formed.’ The Hebrew word for ‘formed’ is not a synonym for the word ‘created.’ Man and woman were already created in Genesis 1:27.

The Hebrew word for ‘formed’ here refers to character and values which etymologically means ‘shaped.’ There is a justified confusion here because the modern use of that Hebrew word refers to ‘produce’ or ‘create’ but again, as used in the scrolls of Moses over 2000 years ago at the time of the Exodus the word refers to ‘shaping’ and in this story, the shaping up of the mindset of mankind.

In the scrolls of Moses we find the Hebrew spelling of the word for ‘formed’ different for the forming of animals from the forming of man. A Hebrew letter called a ‘yud’ is found in the word only once for the forming of animals that God speaks of after they have been created in Genesis 1, but there are two yuds for the forming of man that God is only analyzing and detailing in Genesis 2. One great Sage named Rashi believed the difference in the number of yuds refers to the topic of resurrection of life after death.

The word ‘dust’ in Hebrew is synonymous with the word for clay and the Hebrew religion describes God as the potter who shapes and reshapes his work until satisfied.

This parable delivery of the story of Adam being developed from clay is needed to comply with the mindset of the Israelites of that period who had been imbued with stories from their ancient Semitic culture of people who had been developed from clay-type soil that had been shaped into human form and then animated.

For those fundamentalists who want to argue that God literally created Adam at that time, let us remember we are in Day (Period) 7 and all God’s creation work had been completed in Period 6 and the Lord was now resting.

For more details of this story and what is meant by God removing a rib of Adam to metaphorically create a woman, move now to order the book.

Good reading!Professor Sol Huriashhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04622556096036354048noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-102608691852224801.post-72612096444485722572008-05-11T11:18:00.002-04:002008-05-11T11:25:07.361-04:00DINOSAURS & the TORAH (Bilble, Old Testament)Post 8

DINOSAURS and the TORAH (Hebrew Bible, Old Testament)

In Genesis 1:20 of Period 5 of the creation process, God spells out a mission statement for only two entities when He declared “The waters shall bring forth swarms of living creatures, and birds that fly over the earth across the lower heavens of the sky.”

But then in Genesis 1:21 “And God created the great sea giants (monsters) and all the living creatures of every kind that creep, with which the waters swarmed after their kinds, and all the winged birds of every kind. And God saw that it was good.”

It would appear that something went awry in the chronological order of creation and why would God say the giant monsters were a ‘good’ creation when they eventually disappeared from the world? But this is only because we did not understand the order of creation and we were told by the great Sages of the past that the creation of the giant sea monsters was a mistake and because they eventually disappeared, that God never really intended for them to be created. Those Sages even philosophized that God created several worlds before He got it right.

Today we know that the Bible’s referral to giant sea monsters meant dinosaurs which we today classify as ‘ancient reptiles’ and although dinosaurs were not all amphibians we know that origin for all life started in the seas.

The primitive vertebrates were aquatic. There was a slow long transition for those forms of reptiles and ancient vertebrate that eventually appeared on land and some records show this stage as developed from 340-320 million years ago. Dinosaur fossils (known from rocks in Argentina and Brazil) are about 230 million years old. But the ancestors of all dinosaurs were small lizards-like reptiles that are believed to have appeared 330 million years ago.

Dinosaurs ranged in size from the Brachiosaurus that was the length of two large school buses and the height of a four-story building to the Compsognathus which was just slightly larger than a chicken.

Approximately 700 different dinosaur species existed until 65 million years ago when dinosaurs became extinct after having existed for about 165 million years. Dinosaurs were reptiles but some were amphibious.

So then the question is posed, why were those dinosaurs (giant monsters) made if they were not intended to survive? Today science answers that question and there is total agreement that dinosaurs served as the origin of birds.

We know today there were two major groups of dinosaurs, the ornithischians and saurischians. Birds descended from the saurischians and continue to live and dominate the skies as God said they would. The first birds of the types we see today developed about 100 million years ago as many original species of birds that developed from the small meat-eating dinosaurs became extinct. Many scientists, including Thomas Henry Huxley, believed the birds resembled the theropod dinosaurs (especially the coelurosaurs).

The earliest ‘creeping creatures with which the waters swarmed’ are classified as reptiles. Those that did survive the Cretaceous Period of 140 million years ago were killed off by whales when they took to the sea.

In summary, the answer for the reason for the creation of dinosaurs is because they were a needed building block for the development of birds. Many of the creeping aquatic creatures developed from the varied species of reptiles.

We could now appreciate that there was a perfect chronology of Genesis 1:21 events for giant sea monsters and the creeping creatures that swarmed in the waters with Genesis 1:20 where God asked for the swarming sea creatures and then the birds. In Genesis 1:21 the giant sea creatures were mentioned before the birds, but the birds did not evolve from them until after the swarming creatures were created. So Creation followed the time course of Genesis 1:20 for first the swarming creatures and then the birds.

So oh my, the Bible could only have been issued by a Supreme Power and no man could have had any input into it!!

Details for that period of history are found in chapter one of the book.Professor Sol Huriashhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04622556096036354048noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-102608691852224801.post-36990453315655972472008-05-04T15:10:00.002-04:002008-05-04T15:20:30.387-04:00Christian Bible Printers & the Torah (Hebrew Bible)Blog 7 Christian Bible Printers and the Torah (Bible of the Israelites)

The Hebrew Bible consists of the Five Books of Moses (Christians call it The Old Testament) and the oral law called the Talmud and other works of law and history which together are referred to as the Torah, although the word ‘Torah’ is commonly used when referring to the written Bible itself.

The Torah as delivered by Moses was not originally divided into chapters but was one continuous set of scrolls. The categorization into chapters was begun in the Middle Ages by Christian Bible printers.

The original name given for the Five Books of Moses by the Hebrew Sages was ‘Book of Creation.’ Transliterated from the Hebrew it was pronounced Sefer Masseh Bereshith. In the sixteenth century when there was an attempt to translate the Hebrew Bible into Greek, the Greek influence caused many to refer to the first book as Genesis, which means ‘origin’ in Greek. The present Hebrew name, transliterated sounds Bereshith, means ‘during the beginning.’ This name was adopted by the Jews (Hebrews) because BERESHITH is the first Hebrew word with which the Bible begins. Today most English translations for Jewish Bibles include both titles.

Our book, WHY HUMAN BEINGS DO NOT NEED BLIND FAITH TO BELIEVE IN CREATIONISM, is the first which offers collaborative scientific proof that the Bible is totally accurate. This means that only a Supreme Power could have issued the Bible to Moses.

The field of science, once thought to be in conflict with the Bible, is now our closest ally.

As the previous blog indicates, matching events of the Bible with scientific knowledge of when the different creative processes took place, has enabled us to even assign an appropriate time period for when each reported event of Genesis occurred.

The Torah (Hebrew Bible) was written in the common language of man so it would be understood not only by the Children of the Exodus but by all Jews who follow them.

Won’t you forward this message onto your friends and ask them to forward it onto theirs?Professor Sol Huriashhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04622556096036354048noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-102608691852224801.post-36632743303657929892008-05-01T16:29:00.000-04:002008-05-01T16:30:44.099-04:00GOD: the different names by which He is reffered toBLOG 6

GOD: the different names in the Hebrew Bible by which He is referred

God is referred to by different names in the Torah (Hebrew Bible). One name that God is referred to, as transliterated in the Hebrew, is Elohim. That name refers to God as the God of justice, ruler, the Creator.

At other times, God is referred to, as transliterated in the Hebrew, as Adonay. That name is used to refer to God when stressing His loving kindness, acts of mercy, and close relationship to man.

In the story of Genesis prior to Genesis 2:4, God is only referred to as Elohim.

During the story of the parable of the Garden of Eden from Genesis 2:4 through Genesis 3:24, God is always referred to by both names, Adonay Elohim together. With the exception of being referred to by both names at the same time again in Exodus 9:30, nowhere are both names used again together in the Torah when referring to God.

After Genesis 3:24, God is only referred to as either Adonay or Elohim depending on the topic.

Referring to God as Elohim only during the story of creation in Genesis 1 and referring to Him by both titles through the story of the parable of the Garden of Eden is one of the proofs that the physical story of creation is separate from the parable of the Garden of Eden episode. For more details proving that the Garden of Eden story is a parable and not a continuation of or a second story about creation, one should read the book. Note that the explanation for the mind boggler presented in blog #5 is also found in the book.

Unfortunately, all English translations of the Bible refer to God as God or Lord. Both names are seen as synonyms and the nuances of the significance of the Hebrew names indicating particular title characteristics are lost by nature of such translation.Professor Sol Huriashhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04622556096036354048noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-102608691852224801.post-34801149186502699992008-04-17T15:20:00.001-04:002008-04-17T15:28:28.122-04:00Mother of all Riddles: Rain or No RainBlog 5 MOTHER of all RIDDLES

In Genesis 2:5 which is leading to the Garden of Eden story, God tells us ‘there was no rain.’ The Bible is perfect and there are no errors in it.

Science tells us that in that period of time there was rain. Shouldn’t that fruit be in fact a ‘must eat’ fruit?

It turns out that there is nothing wrong with the tree itself but among the things that was wrong was man’s ideas of what to expect he could achieve by partaking of the fruits of that tree.

We learn from the Bible that the snake led Eve to believe people who would eat from that tree would then become special as gods themselves. That meant women could avoid the pains of childbearing, the struggles of men to produce food would be minimized, and people would have what they had always sought for and that is immortality.

But the true tragedy of partaking of that tree was to be that the people who did it had disobeyed God. In Proverbs 3:7, King Solomon warned us against such behavior and he admonished “Do not be wise in your own eyes….” In our vernacular, this simply means that no person knows better than God what is best for oneself. The wisdom that Adam and Eve gained by eating from that tree was that they learned their beliefs and expectations were wrong and that they should have obeyed God.

One requirement for understanding a parable is to understand the vernacular expressions of the time. The threat of instant death is also part of the parable requiring interpretation because instant death did not follow after Adam and Eve had eaten of the forbidden fruit and God had the people of the parable leaving the Garden and continuing with life. From II Samuel 12:5 we learn that the threat of death was actually a threat of punishment.

Nachmanides, one of the great Sages who was also a physician, had noted that man has to die eventually and death would have followed Adam even if he had not disobeyed God. We know that death had always followed all life and no one had been immune from this biologic process.

Even more mind boggling is the intriguing puzzle of how could both of those 2 trees be located in the same spot in the very center of the Garden?

Questions:

How could both trees in question be in the same spot and where is the Garden of Eden?

Hint:

Solve either puzzle and you’ve solved both.

Where Are The Answers:

The answers are found at the end of chapter two of the book and they will amaze you. The chapter also offers a detailed explanation and analysis of each verse of the Garden of Eden story. In Genesis 1:16 most translations read “God ‘made’ the two great lights, the greater light to dominate the day and the lesser light to dominate the night, and the stars.”

Here then we are presented with a lot of assumptions and therefore confusions. Period 4 began four billion years ago and that was approximately 500 million years after Period 1 had begun. (See Blog 1 which explains, as the great sage Nachmanides claimed, that the world was created in six periods and not days.) A lot of the creation process that took place between Periods 1 and 4, required sunlight. Now science says that the Sun was created in Period 1 at the same time as the Earth so hence the confusion. So how do we account for the discrepancy if we claim the Torah (Bible) is absolutely perfect and science teaches something totally different from what creationist students are taught?

The response turns out to be quite simple. The Torah and science are in agreement but the problem is the way the translation of the Bible reads and the assumptions made as a result of such translation.

The Hebrew word found in chapter 1 of Genesis for the meaning of ‘create’ is transliterated as BORAH. That word for create is only used for something unique as it has been produced by God for the first time and there is nothing similar to it.

The Hebrew word found in chapter 1 of Genesis for the meaning of ‘made’ is transliterated as YA-AS. But ‘made’ is not a correct translation for Genesis 1:16 because according to the Sages, at the time of the Exodus that word was used to convey the thought of ‘putting something into its ultimate position.’ That something is an entity that already had been created.

So two factors have to be considered. The first is that the word BORAH is not a synonym for YA-AS. Yet most Bible readers consider those two words as synonyms and believe God created the Sun for the first time in Period 4, even though the word YA-AS tells us that the Sun had already been created earlier.

The second is that a more proper translation should read:

And God set the two great luminaries into their predetermined ordained positions, the greater luminary to dominate the day and the lesser luminary to dominate the night and the stars.

Science also tells us that the Moon was created after Period 1 was begun. The most accepted astronomical theory for the Moon’s formation was that the Earth was hit from space by an object the size of Mars and that crash sent tons of rock and debris into orbit. Those fragments eventually coalesced to form the Moon. The Earth’s gravity keeps our Moon in orbit.

So why would God use Period 4 to adjust the ultimate position of the Sun and the Moon?

It appears that the Earth’s position in the solar system in relation to the Sun and Moon was optimal at that time to make the period of 135 million years ago (the time in Period 4 when the ‘adjustment’ was taking place) the benchmark standard.

More Biblical and scientific information for this phenomenon is discussed in Chapter 1.Professor Sol Huriashhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04622556096036354048noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-102608691852224801.post-83844654237724764552007-11-08T02:52:00.003-05:002008-03-30T03:48:37.170-04:00Adam and Eve-Mistranslations Cause MisinterpretationsIn Genesis 3:7 Adam and Eve discovered they were naked so they sewed together fig leaves (leaves as in the plural) for clothing. But the original Hebrew scrolls use the word leaf (leaf as in the singular). Now you ask, why do we all read a mistranslated version of the original? Well, it would appear that it was decided years ago that more than one leaf should have been used for an adequate ensemble so in translating to other languages the plural was used.

So who cares?!

We should all care because without the proper translation of the original Hebrew we cannot arrive at a proper interpretation of what this meant in the parable of Eden story.

We should all care because with a proper interpretation of the parable of Eden- the many details of that story appearing vague- we learn the Torah actually says women are the equal of men, women are not responsible for original sin, etc.

In the case of 'leaves', we learn in chapter 2 that clothing represented the contrition of expressed remorse and an explanation for their conduct, all in metaphorial language. We learn that the excuses offered by Adam and Eve both were lacking and inadequate. We learn this is all reflected by use of a single leaf (each offered the same excuse by blaming others for their conduct) and this proved to be unacceptable. Therefore God had to prepare other 'clothing' (understanding of what true contrition should have been) and Adam and Eve both were not forgiven and instead were expelled from the Garden.Professor Sol Huriashhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04622556096036354048noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-102608691852224801.post-20969882700420604472007-09-30T02:55:00.002-04:002008-03-30T03:49:46.616-04:00Proving the Biblical Story of Creation - among othersThe book, “Why Human Beings Do Not Need Blind Faith to Believe in Creationism” should, among other things, resolve the conflicts between those that believe in the timeless truths of the Bible and the findings of modern science. This is so because with the translations of key Hebrew words in Genesis 1 based on their etymological derivate meanings and usage during the period of the Exodus, and incorporating the findings of the Sages and foremost scientists that made contributions, our research has literally proved that the Biblical story of creation is actually in sync with the teachings of modern science. The ramifications are myriad.

Science and every detail of the Biblical story of creation being in sync makes it clear that only a Supreme Power could have issued the Torah (Bible) to Moses. It would have been humanly impossible for Moses or 1000 like him to have known the exact chronological order of creation, that life started in the oceans, and other details of the creation process. Thomas Jefferson had noted that the problem with many organized religions is that they call for blind faith and what is really needed to bring people to the Bible is a rationale for belief. By proving the creation story’s sync with science, the book provides that rationale and thus the first consequence of the project is that it should make people aware that the Bible is to be taken seriously as now there is no question that the world was formed by design.

The biggest challenge we found to address was the mindset of man in chapter 1 of the Bible where the verses translated as ‘and it was evening, and it was morning, day one (2, 3, etc.).’ Taking that to mean a 24 hour day has become an article of faith even though evening to morning was not 24 hours and great Sages like Nachmanides said it should be considered as periods of time and not single days.

The challenge is resolved by using the etymological derivate meanings of the key words. The word for ‘evening’ as used by the Israelites of the Exodus also means among other things, ‘forms mingle and become indistinct,’ and this refers to having embryonic or early shaping up of land structures being developed during which time we can not tell one entity from another at that point of their development even though they are each developing independently of the other creations. That word for ‘evening’ was metaphorically not referring to a period of time but to a mix of entities that were not yet recognizable as they were starting to develop.

The word for ‘morning’ also etymologically means ‘to distinguish differences.’ This means that at the end of the period in question, the entities created became developed enough to be recognizable, as opposed to the metaphorical interpretation referring to a particular period of daytime.

The word for ‘day’ also etymologically means ‘ascend,’ as move on to a higher point or level. This means that at the end of the period of creation in question, that creative process was now ready to move onto the next and higher level.

The book addresses the issue of the many erroneously forced Biblical translations to justify interpretations based on the assumptions of the past. Example, all Bibles, both Christian and Jewish, translate Genesis 3:7 as Adam and Eve using fig leaves (leaves as in the plural) to make clothes for themselves. However, the original Bible of Moses uses the word ‘leaf’ as in the singular. As clothing was part of the metaphor demonstrating and expressing contrition, a proper interpretation of the parable of the Garden of Eden story could not be made if we do not use a correct translation.

We learned from the Garden of Eden story that women are the equal of men and are not responsible for the sins of mankind.
Biblical enigmas are addressed in other chapters. There are also secular political issues discussed as we tell of the Koran teaching that the ‘Promised Land’ is to belong to the Israelites. We also learn from Muslim scholars and supported by the Egyptian Government Publication that the Al Aqsa Mosque should have been built in Medina, Saudi Arabia and not in Jerusalem, Israel.

Every scholar is entitled to their interpretation of Scripture. However, the challenge always arises if they can ‘prove’ their position. Contributors to our book claim our proof being the sync with science and everyone is invited to peruse the website for more details.

The project is not confrontational as it does not question the integrity of any of the religions using the Bible of Moses. The challenges presented are all academic and they should bring us all together to reason. All will be able to offer their followers a greater appreciation of the Bible as well as that myriad of other benefits.Professor Sol Huriashhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04622556096036354048noreply@blogger.com0
